"Chugging" along nicely

Well, its been a hectic last few weeks (I feel like I keep saying that), but this past weekend was by far the best for us thus far – and it’s only the first of many more to come.

We spent all day Saturday over at Wagner College on Staten Island (nice win Seahawks) and figured it would be a great place to get out there and “meet the people.” Boy did we meet them, by the hunnids (read: hundreds)! What a great turn out, Matt and I couldnt have been happier. Running a day long beer pong/beirut tournament is no easy task – especially when its free and some of the players have been drinking since 7AM!

All in all, we had a great turnout and got to spread the word about the essence of ItsCalled.com and what we’re about.

One thing we learned for next time – bring a f*cking tent! Being in the 80-degree heat with full exposure to the sun is grueling for 8 hours!

A homepage, finally

So after late nights , and late-late nights, dozens of comps, and lots of cups of coffee at the Odyssey, Matt and I have nailed down a homepage design. You may be asking yoursef: “Self, how the eff did they come up with this design for the homepage? It looks temporary!” Well, your self would be correct. It is temporary, and by temporary we mean until we have a moment to focus on changing it – which, by the way, may be for a short period while we square away other business matters.

We tried to go for a grungy, beaten look to tie with the grungy beaten logo. The metallic background in which the logo sits on top of, came during a brief moment of clarity when Matt (who was lost in space staring at his open Safari browser window) and thought to himself “Eureka! That’s it!” I believe he literally said “eureka” too.

After some quick and ugly scribbles while chowing down at the diner, the idea was born and the rest, well…..was up to me to finish.
